The Placenta

Placenta Encapsulation

Replenish, Restore, Rejuvenate

You have just completed the surreal task of creating another human being. For the last nine to ten months your body was completely committed to forming those perfect little hands, those dreamy eyes and those those wiggly toes. In the months leading up to labor, and certainly during labor, your hormones were at an all time high, allowing your body to stretch, open and push out an infant. In addition to creating baby, you also created an organ whose specific purpose was to act as the lungs and liver to your baby in utero.

During birth, your hormones peaked and then, immediately after your the birth, your hormones plummeted. In addition, your iron levels are low and your body may be vulnerable, or even depleted. So now then, it is in this condition, that you are faced with the task of nurturing your newest love by way of nursing and staying awake through all hours of the night. Luckily, your own body has provided the perfect natural medicine to aid you in this, indeed, you have already given birth to it: the placenta!

Placentas contain your own healing and energizing hormones that replenish your depleted body, restore your hormone and nutrient levels, as well as rejuvenate your soul. Placentas are high in iron, proteins, vitamins and minerals. It is another step in the mind/body connection that is so important in the journey of motherhood and providing for your baby.

Mother's report:
  • Improved mood with reduced incidence of postpartum mood disorders
  • Speedier, more thorough recovery
  • Less fatigue, more energy
  • Increased milk supply
  • Higher iron levels
  • Prevention and/or elimination of Anemia
How to take your Placenta supplements:
Start slow with your placenta supplements. Try one capsule a day in the morning for the first day, then add a second capsule at noon on the second day. If you'd like increase your intake, you can take two capsules in the morning and two at noon. Some mothers choose to do more, just be mindful that they increase your energy level so it is not recommended to take in the evening.

Postpartum should be a sweet time to get to know your baby, relax and recover from birth- not a time to be super mom who is planning too many activities.
Placenta supplements can be potent, so don't overdo it! Stay in bed, get to know your baby, go easy and enjoy this precious time.
